
Amy Hayden
Amy’s practice is focused on representing patent owners in litigation and licensing to protect and monetize their intellectual property. She is experienced in litigating in federal district courts, at the International Trade Commission, at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and on appeal at the Federal Circuit. She also works with clients to evaluate their patent portfolios, and as a registered patent attorney, provides advice on ways to further strengthen them.
REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
AlmondNet, Inc. v. Amazon.com, Inc. et al. (W.D. Tex.)*: Represented digital advertising company AlmondNet, leading the infringement strategy and presenting the infringement expert witness at trial; $122M verdict.
Thermolife Int’l LLC v. Human Power of N Co. (W.D. Tex. and PTAB)*: Represented plaintiff ThermoLife, leading infringement and Markman strategy in district court, prevailing on 11 of 12 disputed claim terms; at the PTAB, obtained denial of institution of all three post-grant review petitions filed by the defendant; resulted in favorable settlement the terms of which are confidential.
Cobblestone Wireless LLC v. AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile (E.D. Tex.)*: Represented plaintiff Cobblestone Wireless in litigation against the U.S. cellular carriers involving aspects of 5G technology; resulted in favorable settlement the terms of which are confidential.
In re Certain Touch-Controlled Mobile Devices, Computers, and Components Thereof (ITC)*: Represented complainant Neodron in an ITC investigation against Amazon, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, Motorola, and Samsung, alleging infringement of patents related to touch screens and touch controllers; shortly before trial, settled on favorable terms.
Perez v. Thomas et al. (N.D. Cal.)*: Represented plaintiff California state prisoner in Section 1983 litigation, alleging violation of the Eighth Amendment; resulted in favorable jury verdict for plaintiff, including awards of both compensatory and punitive damages.
